Hello. I am an award winning London based Motion Graphic Designer and Design Director with 14 years experience in the industry. My interests and expertise are in motion graphics, art direction, broadcast, advertising, brand identity, animation and typography. My approach is thoughtful and idea driven. To date I have worked with a wide range of clients within the broadcast, motion graphics and branding fields respectively. As Head of Design, I currently oversee the design output of TellyJuice. Working on campaigns for clients including MTV, McDonalds and ITV, I have been involved in Promax UK nominated teams (see below). Pitching to and liaising with clients, managing freelancers with the Head of Production, I ensure all design is delivered on time and on budget, whilst always maintaining the highest level of design.
It was an exciting move from the Creative Services department at Europe’s largest broadcaster (MTG/Viasat), to a small and buzzing creative agency on Old St. TellyJuice is top notch, and I wanted to be part of it. Working with and bouncing off creatives at the top of their game, I was involved with some brilliant projects. My role covered motion graphics, art direction, branding, producing, creative leadership and mentoring. Working with big brands like ITV and The Guardian, I was part of the Promax UK nominated team for Best Channel Rebrand in 2017. I worked on all aspects of creative and design, co-creating the winning concept and pitch, followed by the idents and full on-air and off-air package. The rebrand launched in March 2017.
Richard Holman is currently the creative director of Holman & Hunt (http://www.holmanandhunt.com/). Previously he founded the creative & design agency Devilfish. Under Richard’s stewardship the agency gained international renown for its clear headed strategic thinking and for its creativity, winning awards at Promax, Cannes, Creative Circle and D&AD, among others. Working closely under Richard on a one-on-one basis for over nine months, I developed branding strategies for broadcast, pitched channel rebrands internationally, and produced extensive art direction and copy writing for various international campaigns.
MTG (now known as Nordic Entertainment Group) is the largest broadcast company in Europe, with over 30 TV channels in Scandinavia, the Baltics, Russia & Eastern Europe. Starting as a motion graphic designer, my role at MTG Creative quickly expanded to include art direction, branding, producing, directing, creative leadership and mentoring. My day to day included any or all of the following: working with on and off air broadcast design, working on 360 campaigns, developing brand workshops, working on pitches for channel rebrands and seasonal campaigns, going on shoots in London and across Europe to ensure my concepts are fully realised on screen, pitching in person to marketing teams and creative directors across Europe, liaising with external studios to realise our concepts, in-house ident and promo graphics creation. Transitioning to a Lead Designer role, I ensured the smooth running of the design department. I was responsible for ensuring designers worked on projects to which their talents were best suited. Liaising with creative directors and members of the design team, I organised group training days, along with one on one mentoring. Responsible for hiring new team members, when I left the design department was the strongest and most varied it had ever been. Working as an Art Director, I successfully pitched on a number of channel rebrands, seasonal campaigns and pan-European TV show launches. Working with marketing teams across Europe, I ensured these big campaigns were delivered on time and within budget, whilst always maintaining the highest level of design.
