I contribute to the wellbeing program in your organisation by running online workshops or mentor colleagues in mindfulness. I also offer a mentoring programme for teachers and lecturers with roots in my own experience - my own stress arose from teaching and managing courses in adult education. “Fostering employee wellbeing is good for people and the organisation. Promoting wellbeing can help prevent stress and create positive working environments where individuals and organisations can thrive. Good health and wellbeing can be a core enabler of employee engagement and organisational performance.” - CIPD Mindfulness is increasingly recognised as an effective and accessible approach to improving wellbeing and mental health. By the way ... can anyone meditate? Some people have told me they “can’t meditate” because they “cannot empty their mind.” That’s okay. We have thoughts all the time. We’re supposed to. When meditating, or being mindful of the task at hand, your mind will not ‘empty’. You cannot get it wrong, and with practice you can get better. You only need to find five minutes a day … During my extensive experience of education and training, I began to teach a mindfulness community education course. From those roots, teaching mindfulness and meditation has become my full-time business. I’m recognised as a teacher by the global meditation app InsightTimer.com, with live meditation sessions in the pipeline. Consider how a live guided meditation, via Zoom, could turn your seemingly endless series of virtual meetings into a time of real value for your colleagues. Do contact me when you’d like to know more. I live in Olney, Buckinghamshire with my partner Jane and our calmly intelligent border collie Maisie. I work exclusively online.
