Ourselves + OthersInspired by Nigerian scholar Obioma Nnaemeka’s theory of nego-feminism - a strand of African feminism - the ourselves + others: African feminist re-CREATIONS at SOAS will offer a unique mix of intellectual and performance-oriented programming. Centering women and nonbinary artists of African ascent, the festival will feature cutting-edge visual art, feminist theory, creative entrepreneurship, salons, live music, an afterparty, and more. The curated art and conversations will explore feminism, silence, and the body.
