India Harris experienced multi disciplines within the creative industry from fashion, print design and marketing before becoming a freelance graphic designer and creative. In 2011, India began her university degree in Textile Design with Business studies at the University of Brighton. After sampling knit and weave she came to specialise in printed textiles for fashion which lead to her first placement in New York City with DKNY. She later went onto work as a freelance in-house Print designer at DKNY, which lead to designing elements of the Cara Delevingne for DKNY capsule collection amongst mainline collections for NYFW. Both business and creative minded, India won the OC&C Graduate Fashion Week award for new business ideas in 2015 before completing her degree with a first class honors. Once graduated, India began work in the Sportstyle Marketing department at PUMA, based in London. Working on campaigns including FENTY, PUMA x Bape, Retro Running and ambassador campaigns with UK Rap duo Krept and Konan and reality TV star Lucy Watson. With experience in events, account management, marketing and design, India is currently working as a freelance designer and creative. Working with brands and agencies, her flexible skill set allows her to create exciting, unique content inspired by fashion, art and youth culture. Working on both reatil accounts and PR, helping to manage and execute campaigns alongside organising and hosting events. Developing concepts which were used to creatively direct campaigns and working on project management of campaign shoots, reatiler specific events and in-store pieces. Thinking of innovative ways to market new product using infleuncers and ambassadors. Executing media campaigns both digitally and printed for retailer specific launches.

Working with the designers to create prints for Fall 2015. Helping to develop colours, moods and digital graphics. Developing print design concepts and graphics for the DKNY x Cara Delevingne. Also working on graphics for the DKNY capsule collection with Opening Ceremony.
Working as a Textile Intern, creating and making embroideries and embellishments for Resort 2015. Working with different fabrics and techniques to create interesting textures and effects. Finished samples were used in production for Resort garments.
Working on the design floor, designing and working with the head print designer to create prints for Fall 14 and Resort for DKNY and DKNY Pure. Creating designs digitally through photoshop and illustrator and also hand painting and drawing images for prints. I used photography to assist in the design process and photos I had taken were also used to be published in WWD magazine. I hand printed garments that were worn on the S/S 14 catwalk at New York fashion week, where I also worked backstage. I worked with the designers to produce graphics for capsule collections with Opening Ceremony X DKNY and I also produced graphics used in other departments such as accessories. I helped assist in creating themes and moods for new seasons which also involved developing colour palettes, market research and embroidery.

For my business plan aimed at helping freelancers getting work within the creative industries, I was awarded the OC&C Business award at Graduate Fashion Week 2015.
