About me
Indianna is an artist and writer whose practice is based in a tactile and immersive interaction with her materials. Her sculptural works become a source for her writing.
She is a participant in the Plants Speak, If We Listen series of events and collective. She was also a selected member of The Retreat Residency programme in 2018 which culminated in an exhibition at the Hardwick Gallery, Cheltenham. She graduated from University of the Arts London with 1st class Honours in BA Fine Art in 2017.
In addition she runs regular art workshops for children that aim to expand access to the arts and art education. She is also a professional writing coach and proof-reader for academic texts.
Projects
- Tenants of 89aDo you know what your office furniture does when you're not around? Are you sure? What if they began to photosynthesise (yes, like plants)? What if the fan and the table decided that actually they didn't want you around any more? So it goes in this thoroughly weird fiction and exhibition of sculptures.
- Art WorkshopsI run and design children's art workshops aimed at groups 8-15 year olds, in groups as well as private lessons. We made our own comic books, learned about bookmaking techniques, zine styles and bindings, composition, storyboarding. Other workshops have focussed on observational drawing, learning to use a variety of materials, and some basic colour theory. The main aim is to build self-confidence and creative development.
