About me
Designer and Maker.
My design philosophy is born through using my multicultural heritage, experience of traditional craftmanship and observational research through photography, to design and make pieces that express the natural beauty of everyday objects.
Projects
- Topside.A desk tidy that was born from material exploration of sheet metal. This desk tidy allows the user to change the size of the sections by slotting the dividers where ever desired. Further personalising the product in regards to the owners possessions. Through inspiration from ship containers, the product has a playful aesthetic allowing people to see the line between fun and work merged together. In collaboration with Louis Polin.
- zoal benchA self assembly furniture piece inspired by structural joints and my multicultural heritage, celebrating the marriage of English and Pakistani traditional furniture making. The challenge was to design furniture with no fixtures or unnecessary materials with sustainable manufacture being the heart of the piece, the dry joint construction is central to the design philosophy. The bench being self assembly allows the user to be a part of the process, in doing so promoting an emotional connection
