Working in a high street shoe store for four years alongside studying media and cultural studies ignited this interest in understanding the buying and merchandising sector of the fashion industry, and the need to meet consumer needs and demands. Finding out the who, what, where and why they are persuaded to my a product and how do companies use this information to produce and sell to them. Styling proves to play an integral part in the marketing and advertising process of a fashion company, as it has to be executed well to attract the target audience, and also be suggestive so it can offer consumers ideas on how to dress the item. I believe clothes are a significant form of self-expression, constantly inspired by old and new trends, my style combines both with a personal flair. My enthusiasm for styling has landed me opportunities assist on shoots for High Snobiety, Kaltbult and Polyesterzine magazine. Recently, I landed the opportunity to style my own shoot which was featured in COY Magazine – ‘The siren out back’. As well as magazines, I have also worked with music artists for marketing shoots and music videos. Working on these shoots also keeps me up to date on the latest trends and ignites my interest in consumer purchasing habits.
