Isobel Rae is a fashion image maker based out of Canada. Graduating from Emily Carr University with a BFA in Photography, her work is known for its soft and personal nature. Many of her projects surround documenting youth and her social circle, and this aesthetic translates into her commercial work. She is passionate about disrupting and altering the way people view “beauty”. Using many references to art history and renaissance painting, her work observes and reconstructs the way European beauty standards have trickled down into mainstream society. She aims to challenge these conceptions through her still image photography.
