About me
I love social media. I love using it in my personal life and using it to change lives and build community in the world of commerce. Staying in touch with people is what drives me. But that’s not enough. People aren’t going to respond unless what I am saying is interesting. The same applies when using Social Media in business. Now it is really easy to “get in front of people”, anyone can do that. Getting people to engage with brands and starting a mutually rewarding conversation is more difficult - this is what I find really exciting. As a content writer, I crave to be read and engaged with. Which of course is not something that is in any way automatic or guaranteed. No one engages with a post on social media just because it’s there. The content has to earn that engagement. It has to be bold, fun, clear, pertinent, timely, funny (sometimes), relevant (always) and often all of these things. But being truly successful on social and reaping the benefits of that success, takes flair and word smithing, of course, but it also takes a great deal of hard work of another sort. Hard work getting to know a company. Finding out what makes it tick. Getting under it’s skin so to speak and fortunately I really enjoy doing this too.
