Currently I'm working as a set designer at GPD agency in Poland.
I'm placed in a very fast paced work environment. The job requires constant cooperation with different branches of the agency itself (producers, accounts, graphic designers, photographers, directors, camera operators, food stylists, actors etc.) while creating a balanced and satisfying final product - a photo shoot or a commercial.
My background as a interior and exhibition designer is definitely helpful with what I do now, but I learned to make all decisions , ordering and consulting as fast as possible. The workflow of a movie set required me to become constantly alarmed, to notice any need of change or improvement with the set design and applying these changes as fast and efficiently as possible.
Despite the fact that this type of job is extremely time and energy consuming, I have a very strong need to create more at my free time. This often means less time for sleep.
What type of creativity after work I mean? It's always different. I try to always find something new to explore. Sometimes it's as simple as renovating old wooden furniture, so that it meets my expectations. Sometimes it's renovating and restyling bicycle, or building a home made electric guitar from scratch. One of the passions I find as a constant joy is beer crafting. As a current off work project, I'm building a hollow wooden surfboard.
If you combine what I do now with my past, the idea of my personality will become a bit more clear. In some way I'm a very anxious and inpatient person, always looking for new fields of design to explore, new people, new places and technologies, basically new challenges and passions.
So far I've been designing logos and graphic, furniture, private and public interiors, elevations, exhibitions, movie and photo sets, packaging and even landscape.
While working within these fields of design i was always trying to use all benefits of designers tools, both basic ones like drawing, sculpting and painting, as well as modern tools, like auto cad based programs, 3D modeling and graphic design programs. Within these tools there was always a very efficient and effective language to communicate with clients and coworkers.
I know I can be a strong improvement to your company, able to use all my knowledge and skills combined with strong effort and hard work.
