My work at tank includes front of house management, maintaining and cleaning the exhibition space while also greeting guests and visitors. I organise meetings and studio visits with artists and continue a strong course of research into our artist network. When arranging shows i manage the calendar by planning openings and the duration of each event, i also work out the budget and production costs and directly invoice the accounts team. Working with our artists i deal with the shipping and storage of work, help with the installation and rental of tech equipment or fabrication of pieces. I’ve helped to advise and book accommodation and flights for our artists. I also run the tank.tv website - which involves editing the site, online promotion through social media, mail chimp and e-invites for both online and offline shows. I’ve assisted in mapping out funding applications and building contact with a small supporters network, while also being in contact with press and curators. Another key part of the role is organising an archive of press coverage from this year and arranging photography/documentation of each event we have hosted. For private views i edit and print press releases, posters and flyers, secure drink sponsors and refreshment and maintain security during the night in our Central London location.
In October i started working for 'Leafi' a company that runs the Whitechapel Gallery and Geffrye Museum Restaurants. During my time studying at Kingston University i took on a role as a Student Fundraiser, this involved calling previous graduates from the arts faculty and asking them about their experiences on the course, i would then move the conversation into asking whether they would like to make a donation to the University. In this position i learnt key skills in maneuvering conversations and asking difficult questions.
At University i worked fulltime for Fashion and new culture magazine SuperSuper, i helped to form trend reports, cover fashion events and music and also promote our recent editorial and advertorial content featured both Online and Offline.
