About me

I'm a freelance arts writer focussing on photography and publishing. I studied Art History at The Courtauld and I've worked at Tank Magazine, the ICA, and the Delfina Foundation. I contribute to The Double Negative, and my work's been featured by the magCulture Journal, It's Nice That, Port Magazine, Frieze, AIGA Eye on Design, The London Magazine, The Plant, and Paper Journal. I've written copy for Because London and Together Associates, and I help a number of galleries send newsletters.

  • (Re)Made in China: Appropriation, Subversion, and Transformation in Chinese Art (1978-2008), with Dr Wenny Teo During my studies I developed a particular interest in sound artists Yan Jun and Samson Young; contemporary photographers such as Zhang Kechun, Li Jun, and Tao Liu; and the use of food in art, seen in Ma Qiusha and Fang Lu's work. My dissertation was written on the use of documentary and the unstable definition of live performance in Tehching Hsieh's work.
