My role as a runner is to help ensure the smooth running of events around London. This can involve helping with the set up and take down of the event, client facing and assisting in hosting. It generally involves working under pressure and using initiative whilst working alongside a variety of people.
My role as a sales representative in the Credit Card Retentions Unit involved closing credit cards for customers, identifying issues and resolving them with retention offers. It gave me experience in taking a high volume of inbound calls and fast paced data entry whilst providing excellent customer service over the phone.
Cicada Lodge is a luxury accommodation that required the small team to take on varied roles. This meant a role in guest services, alongside providing breakfast and dinner service. It required an extremely high level of service whilst booking tours, handling enquiries, checking guests in and out of their rooms and communicating with different departments to ensure consistently happy guests. Team leading for food and beverage dinner cruises required me to ensure that every shift ran smoothly whilst providing excellent dinner service. The role included serving customers, receiving manifests for the evening, organising the staffing team, table planning and addressing large groups of guests.
Assisting in daily office tasks in the classified department. Receiving and distributing mail, editing and sending reply letters, filing documents, collating press packs, copying files and researching current advertising links. Sat in for daily meetings on sales and targets and the general running of different publications in the office.
Enabled me to be involved in different aspects of events around London, such as the set up and take down of a catwalk show or serving at a rugby captain dinner, giving me more insight into the backstage environment of events.
Being involved in the organisation of the backstage area whilst working professionally alongside festival organisers, main stage artists and stage crew to help ensure a successful event. Responsible for transferring artists to different stages and areas alongside dressing room production and scheduling quick turnovers.
