  • Working with Creative Director and Technology Director in a design assistant and creative consultant role, on a number of projects for high profile clients including: Saatchi & Saatchi, Cirque Du Soleil and Lady Gaga. Helping develop initial concepts on new project pitches, drawing initial sketches from client briefs and working to plan development of projects and pitches. Advising on direction and stylistic choices for the Studios in house technology driven fashion label. Working on concepts for intergrated tech-fashion modules for garments. Assisting with the development of UI/UX tech-fashion modules. The nature of the work for Studio XO has been very experiemental with a strong focus on end user experience and the development of ground breaking concepts for the tech fashion cross-over brand. Due to some NDA restrictions it’s difficult to put into words the nature of the work without meeting face to face.

  • Assisting the Creative Director to generate concepts, themes and direction for seasonal collections as well as licence collaboration collections. Ensuring that the brand takes a fresh approach to each seasons whilst retaining the brands core values, message and aesthetic. Collating visual and cultural inspiration for design mood boards. Drawing content from a wide range of primary sources and contextual knowledge. Producing a wide range of graphic responses; illustrative, typographic, contemporary graphic pattern and placement prints, following the seasonal concept brief, applied across a wide range of menswear garments and accessories. Briefing freelance designers and interns on project concepts and collection directions, ensuring they stay on brand and follow style guides. Preparing print artwork for collections to be delivered to factories. CADing designs for tech packs and factory sampling process. Assisting the production manger with sample analysis on fit, print, construction and quality assesment. Sourcing fabrics and samples swatches at international textile tradeshows. Visiting overseas factories and assisting with on site quality control and sourcing suppliers. Liasing with the Creative Director, Digital Content Editor and Marketing Director to initiate concepts for lookbooks Working on location with freelance photographers and videographers on lookbook photoshoots running, styling and art direction. Producing digital wholesale selling tools and line sheets as well as in-house line sheets and range plans. Assisting the international and European wholesale mangers at international tradeshows. Presenting collections to international clients. Including: Colette Store Paris, Opening Ceremony USA/Japan, Community 54 NYC, Reed Space NYC/ Selfridge’s London/ Galeries Lafayette, ASOS UK and Urban Outfitters USA. Working for Lazy Oaf has been a fantastic learning experience. I have had the opportunity to meet some fantastic people. See new parts of the world. But most importantly it has offered me an outlet for my more personal style of design and illustration. I left the company to find a new challenge in the creative world and to explore new styles and design practices outside of fashion design. I still work for the brand on a freelance basis.
