Naturally I like great design, gin, and food (in that order). I’m a Designer from Manchester and a final year Graphic Design student at The University of Salford. Over the last few years I’ve had the pleasure of working on a range of exciting client briefs in addition to working in-house at one of Europe’s largest ad agencies, Social Chain. As such, I have experience working with clients of all sizes, ranging from local businesses to multi-nationals and design agencies. My ideal brief? Anything that involves getting my hands dirty (I’m not a so-called ‘clean desk designer’). If you like making books and drinking tea, let’s be friends.Locked Pro Plan feature
My role touches on various areas of design; including editorial design, branding, print and advertising. One of the more challenging aspects of my role is conceptualising and designing unique and engaging content for cross-platform advertising campaigns. During this position I have produced work for clients including Apple, Google, P&G, Disney and Eurosport.
I have been offering freelance graphic design services for a number of years under the pseudonym ‘Made by Jake’. I am experienced in designing identities, digital and print collatoral for clients ranging from local startups to multinationals. I have been fortunate to have my work featured in several publications and win a number of awards too.
My degree has taught me how to develop idea-led solutions, embracing the digital while preserving traditional processes of design. I am on course to graduate with a 1:0 in summer of 2017.
Gold Winner at the Print Solutions Awards, in association with Brief Cases and The Heaven Company.
I was recognised at an event at the House of Lords in September 2016 for my work on the identity for The International Federation of National Teaching Fellows, and my continued work as a student ambassador.
