  Lemn Sissay in the USAI designed this series to promote performances from renowned poet Lemn Sissay during a book launch tour. The brief was for a typographical approach, that would compliment a recent set of powerful black and white photographs. The photographs are © Benji Reid.

  Live MusicPosters for various music nights at Leeds University Union’s Oldbar. The Reckless Serenade posters were inspired by classic 60s and 70s rock and punk posters. For the Sunday Set artwork I wanted to convey a sense of live, unscripted music and took inspiration from handwritten album sleeves and song lyrics jotted down on scraps of paper.
• Speak Up!Logo and brand creation for Speak Up!—a range of spoken word and poetry events launching at Leeds University Union. I decided on a hand-scrawled logo to reflect the urban feel of the events, as one of the main aims of the series is to bring students and the literary community together. This is continued into the branding elements such as the ‘title boxes’ on the posters, which are adaptable depending on the speaker or poet, and the tone of a particular event.
