About me
My name is James Pipe and I love to create.
In 2017 I graduated from Farnham UCA with a 2:1 degree in Graphic Communication as a mature student.
Prior to this and after leaving college, I played guitar and wrote songs in an indie Rock band - called ‘Canterbury’. Whilst in the band I took on the role of lead artistic contributor. This resulted in the creation of 2 album covers with full artwork, designing merchandise, styling concepts, social media management and storyboarding music videos.
After 8 years in the band, its was time for change. This lead me to study for a degree in 'Graphic Communication' at Farnham UCA.
I am now looking for a full time job in the creative world.
Projects
- 'The 500 Club' - Editorial Design, Photography, Digital ArtMy aim with 'The 500 Club' was to create a publication which would showcase my typography, photography, painting & graphic art, all inspired by the Surfing, the ocean and the rhythm of water. - everything within the publication was created by myself.
- 'Canterbury' - Art Direction, Logo Design, Album ArtThe creation of the 'Heavy in the Day' artwork was the result of a vision and a small sketch which I felt represented the themes of the album - feeling lost in the world, calling out for help and finding acceptance. - I had the vision for this artwork and designed the logo on the flag. Dark Days was all about rebranding the band with a heavier sound which was represented in the logo change which I designed and edgier photography by Samuel Bradley, who also captured the 'HITD' image.
