About me
Exploring, creating, documenting and communicating are fundamental ways in which I interact with my world. These approaches drive me to engage with individuals, explore multiple forms of art and contrasting ideals to create multidisciplinary work that is both honest and challenging. I have always been keenly interested in visual, creative and performance arts, and have a range of varied experiences, both as a consumer and creator of these forms. My work also reflects my background in politics and philosophy, and is shaped by my years spent in France. This experience provides me with a unique set of skills and ideals with which I approach my work. I have developed strong speaking and listening skills through activities such as mentoring and teaching. These have given me the ability to undertake leadership roles in multiple environments including project development, public speaking, performance and community outreach. My experiences working and volunteering in these fields has nurtured a growing interest in further developing my understanding of the creative world and how it operates. My hobbies, like my experiences, are diverse. They include: cultivating friendships, engaging in open and honest conversations, sports of all kinds (but especially team sports), taking photos of beautiful things that I observe, and spending time with loved ones. I am currently looking for opportunities in: Script-writing, Personal Profiles (particularly Editorials, Interviews and Profiles), Life-Style Photography, Copywriting, Content Creation, Design, and Film Production. Let's collaborate, connect and cultivate something beautiful together: james.robert.price.93@gmail.com

  • Discomfort - A 21st Century Experience
Discomfort - A 21st Century ExperienceFatima was an inspiration for me this summer (Summer 2018). She was at once both private and uniquely talkative; she spoke openly about her trials and tribulations as a black female model working in both British and European settings. I felt that she enjoyed sharing her stories with someone new to her world, unbiased and unversed in the intricacies and difficulties of being a freelance model. In getting to know her and speaking to her about her work, she opened up to me about her experiences wh
  • An Initiation into Film Photography via my Father
An Initiation into Film Photography via my FatherIn June 2018, whilst developing my skills in digital photography - exploring the nuances of what it means to not only take photos, but to stage a photo, build a relationship with your subject, and find the right moment to capture - my father gifted me his old Olympus OM-10 SLR, a fantastic, if a little battered, piece of equipment. Inside of it was a roll of undeveloped and - I assumed - unused film. I proceeded to shoot a selection of individuals across several locations in London and Bristol,

  • One Hundred and Eleven Stories & Counting
One Hundred and Eleven Stories & CountingOne Hundred and Eleven Stories & Counting – there were about seventy-five attendees, around sixty sheets of recycled cotton rag paper, and over a dozen pens placed besides clips resting on a plinth. The installation displayed a carefully curated collection of Stories that featured anonymous, handwritten texts in over five languages. The stories are about times when they have loved, lost or learnt—or at least that's what I request when "would you share a story with me" is too broad.
