My responsibilities as a Student Ambassador was to provide friendly and informative support to prospective post graduate students during special events. I was also recruited by my Course Leader to be a part of 'Taster Sessions' for individuals who showed interest in the MA Actor Training and Coaching course. I was also present during the auditions for that program, as well as served as Course Representative.
As a cast member of the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum, my role was to create an educational, historically accurate, and entertaining touring experience for a group of up to 70 patrons. I was also responsible for the safety of my guests while we maneuvered through the nautical site. Some shifts I was positioned in the museum's tea room, where I would entertain guests and educate them on the teas we served. I also worked special events such as school groups, special performances, meetings, Boston's annual Harbor Fest, as well as the 239th Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party which was a Re-Enactment of the event.
As a substitute teacher, my main role was to provide coverage for teachers that would be absent or had to leave early. The support I provided was following the teacher's lesson plan, maintaining a good standard of behavior within the classroom, and assisting the students. I also frequently worked with special needs students. Another task was to work in the Vice Principal's office as his Administrative Assistant. I would provide phone coverage, manage his diary, schedule appointments with students, as well as file and shred sensitive student documentation.
The position of Touring Actor for the Hampstead Stage Company was to serve as an ambassador for the company's mission: to bring adaptations of classical literature to school's across the United States. I traveled to 38 states during the time I spent with the company and presented two person performances of: 'OLIVER TWIST,' 'A CHRISTMAS CAROL,' 'DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE,' 'THE ADVENTURE'S OF MR. TOAD,' 'THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER,' 'ALICE IN WONDERLAND,' and 'ALADDIN.' I was also responsible for leading workshops and Q&A sessions. Another responsibility was to serve as a liaison between the school and the company, to book future performances, collect and process payment, budget the trip, chart travel, as well as van maintenance.
While working for Edgell Grove Cemetery my responsibilities were answering phones, photocopying, providing sensitive support for grieving families, as well as entering lot information into a database to create an elaborate map of the 14,000 internment buried within the cemetery.
I toured with Radio City Music Hall's 2007 production of the 'RADIO CITY'S CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR.' I operated as a Production Assistant and Stage Manager. During the rehearsal process, I was responsible for travel/housing arrangements, maintaining a clean working space, filling out paper work, as well as assisting the Production Staff with any task they needed done. During the production, I operated the stage right track at the Grand Ole Opry, as well as worked as an animal wrangler and a child supervisor.
I worked as an Administrative Assistant for professor Maggie Lally. I was responsible for managing Professor Lally's diary, as well as assisting in the planning and execution of several events for the theatre department.
I held the position of House Manager for Adelphi University's Olmsted Theatre for several years. My duties as House Manager were collecting tickets, allocating seating, setting up and taking down concessions, ticket counting, usher supervision, as well as maintaining safety within the 371 seat Mainstage House or the 90 seat Black Box space.
This one year programme allowed me to develop and hone my skills as a theatre practitioner. My specialism is the physical training of actors, as well as applying neuroscience to trigger emotion through physiological responses in the body.
