Jamie Allen is a Creative Designer based in Hertfordshire, delivering effective, innovative and strategic solutions to brands. Inquisitive as a child as to how and why products work; subsequently taking things apart; a natural ability to problem solve led to pursuing a career in Design. Starting with a passion for designing football boots, Jamie was unaware at the age of 6 that this would guide his career path several years later. A keen city hopper, visiting museums & historical monuments; as well as embracing culture; has provided continuous inspiration to broaden design thinking. Attentive to detail, Jamie aims to consider both intrinsic and extrinsic factors when approaching a brief. Entering a project with an open mind-set allows Jamie to utilise his knowledge of brands. University allowed Jamie to create emotion through design by evaluating the object/brand value as well as the wider context. Understanding consumer behaviour towards a design has been a key skill developed during University and since from professional experience. Since graduating from the University of Hertfordshire in 2014 with a 2.1, Jamie responsible for all design work (from Products through to Marketing) at Amethyst London - while liaising with clients regarding designs – before becoming Design & Production Manager at Curious Book Co. since May 2016. With experience of working alongside international Luxury brands, Jamie has been able to develop a leading design edge in branded products as well as understanding brands.Locked Pro Plan feature
• Managing design & production of branded notebooks while monitoring stock as well as designing/artworking made to measure designs subject to each individual brief. • Photograph products & upload/monitor website imagery. • Maintaining & developing brand assets - such as business cards, pitch decks & invoice design. Create all BTL marketing & Pitch Decks.
• Now part of Curious Book Co. • Designing bespoke leather products to reflect a brand’s identity. Creating new concepts for client working to their requirement. Using project/account management skills as well as understanding of brand identity & product design throughout. • Creating all Pitch Decks for potential clients & being first point of design contact maintaining CRM. • Liaising with the factory regarding designs & Photographing new products as they arrive. • Designing BTL marketing campaigns; including newsletters and presentations; using InDesign. • Using WordPress to update company website maintaining Brand Assets & SEO.
Focusing on consumer behaviour towards branding & products. Study also allowed the development of designing for emotion & semantics.
