Jamie Allen is a Creative Designer based in Hertfordshire, delivering effective,
innovative and strategic solutions to brands. Inquisitive as a child as to how and why products work; subsequently taking things apart; a natural ability to problem solve led to pursuing a career in Design. Starting with a passion for designing football boots, Jamie was unaware at the age of 6 that this would guide his career path several years later.
A keen city hopper, visiting museums & historical monuments; as well as
embracing culture; has provided continuous inspiration to broaden design thinking. Attentive to detail, Jamie aims to consider both intrinsic and extrinsic factors when approaching a brief. Entering a project with an open mind-set allows Jamie to utilise his knowledge of brands.
University allowed Jamie to create emotion through design by evaluating the
object/brand value as well as the wider context. Understanding consumer behaviour towards a design has been a key skill developed during University and since from professional experience.
Since graduating from the University of Hertfordshire in 2014 with a 2.1, Jamie
responsible for all design work (from Products through to Marketing) at Amethyst
London - while liaising with clients regarding designs – before becoming Design
& Production Manager at Curious Book Co. since May 2016. With experience of
working alongside international Luxury brands, Jamie has been able to develop a
leading design edge in branded products as well as understanding brands.
Projects
- Queens Park Rangers - Concept CrestsAfter designing some initial concepts following Queens Park Rangers announcing they are re-branding, I developed my favourite idea (and one most similar to the chosen design) into proportion showing it's construction & justification while also superimposing it onto some concept QPR shirts based on the existing sponsor & kit manufacturer.
- Embraer Executive JetsA series of products developed for Embraer Executive Jets (In chronological order - oldest first). - Initial order aimed to use foiling to highlight their brand name & create an association with the products whereas the second order aimed to use a modern logo/motif alongside a more subtle embossing. - Luggage Tag was designed with edges to reflect the same angles as the Embraer 'bird' to create a forward motion. - All leather & linings Pantone matched to the Embraer brand colours.
