About me
Jamie Drew, better known as @jdshotyou, is a Birmingham based music photographer and visual essayist. From 2012 to 2024, he documented the intensity and intimacy of live music across stages, green rooms, and city streets to rise of UK rap and grime into the mainstream outlets —building a body of work that captured more than just performances: it captured presence.
Working with a wide range of artists, DJs, labels and brands his photography gained a reputation for being fast, instinctual, and emotionally raw—
documenting the events, the artists and the crowd the way they deserve to be.
Projects
- Too Many BTS (2025)Shot entirely in one take and on location in the heart of Birmingham, capturing the energy behind Too Many meant moving fast and staying locked in. I just stayed out the way and let the music lead, Star.dom, M1llionz, and nineteen97 brought their energy to the lens. I just caught it. images were pulled straight from that one-take run, no resets, no extras, captured once — and that was enough. Shot by JD, Too Many out now on all streaming platforms.
