Work history
Agile Project Manager
Agile methodology project manager in an award-winning, South London based Microsoft C#/ASP.NET software house.
I managed client projects from wireframing/requirements phases right through to Live deployment and Maintenance/Support periods.
Using an agile-scrum methodology, I typically co-ordinated teams of between 3 and 8 developers and QAs/testers, using TDD/BDD, for clients including a top 5 client for our company (a large Retail Finance entity).
We also provided web development, responsive design and mobile app development services to our clients.
Project Manager
-
Employee #4 at a (recently acquired) RF Regulatory Type Approval startup. PCS sits between manufacturers and the Government Regulators of 200+ countries, helping secure approval of wireless devices. Customers I helped included Apple, Aruba Wireless, Dell, Ericsson, Motorola and Nintendo.
Highlights
As PCS grew from a 7 person startup to a 25 man UK-leading consultancy, the team used me as an escalation point for complex/serious issues concerning customer accounts, project management timelines or technical matters. I also speak Spanish, and learnt to read Portuguese during my time there, so I was very helpful in all manner of situations.
I would often help the team resolve critical issues, for example I helped Dell obtain Approval of their Latitude 10 tablet in Indonesia, and Apple’s Watch gain acceptance in UAE.
I was also trusted by the founders to manage Brazil; a complex, important customer market involving more than ten local vendors and budgets ~$250k/quarter, as well as the Dell and Ericsson customer accounts.
PCS founder, Gemma McGough, wrote this about me:
“I found Jamie to be a passionate and committed employee with strong technical skills and problem solving ability and great attention to detail. Jamie thinks ‘outside of the box’ and brings a different and dynamic perspective to a team.”
