About me
I have just finished my final year of university studying a joint honour in History and American Studies. I am looking to begin my career in a more creative industry, specifically in marketing.
I am incredibly passionate about the digital world, not just from a marketing perspective but as a whole and the impact it has. I am personally interested in fashion, design, photography and writing and these are all pursuits of mine in my spare time.
I have been carrying out a number of internships to experience as much as I can in a variety of different fields. This has included online sales, copywriting, business communication, digital marketing and social media. I have also written for blogs and websites including the Yorkshire Film Archive. I am currently looking for full-time positions once I graduate in the areas of digital and social media, marketing and communications.

In this role I worked under the head of business development to create a social media presence for a chain of care homes. This involved creating, and overseeing the creation of, regular content and coming up with ideas for campaigns. The company lacked any presence prior so my role involved building the brand identity via social media. This role involved heavy use of communication, analytics and time keeping as well as responsibility to manage the brand's image. As an intern, one of my key roles is using smart, free methods of advertising, so SEO, smart copywriting and tracking our goals via Google Analytics and Facebook Insights were crucial to being successful.

Marketing and Communications InternYork Carers Centre

The majority of this internship involved creating and improving business to business relationships with local companies. My role was to improve upon a discount scheme the company provided for local carers in the area, offering a variety of discounts. I would arrange meetings, negotiate a discount the company could offer, write the terms and conditions of the discount to be featured in a booklet and then create marketing packs to advertise the scheme and new companies on it, including posters, stickers and social media posts. The internship involved heavy use of Excel spreadsheets and giving Presentations to display my progress and achievements.
