About me

My name is Jane Hayes and throughout my career I have worked in various industries from advertising to events and fashion. My formal education is in business with a focus on music and advertising. My background in advertising, with a marketing focus, and the knowledge I have gained through my previous positions, gives me an edge. I have the ability to think both creatively and strategically and see an event, festival, or project from all points of view. Through my working life I have developed skills in a variety of areas including production, sponsorship, basic legal, PR, photographic, editorial and film production. My experience extends to creative direction, strategy and business documentation. I have a strong sales background and a proven record in producing results. I have a love of concept development and project strategy and have implemented these skills in a variety of projects both on a large and small scale. I enjoy working by myself or in a group environment and have managed teams both large and small; I am very comfortable in taking on a leadership role. I am a strong communicator and am at ease in both corporate and creative settings. I have held a number of positions over the years, including being the co-founder and managing director of The Spirit of the Black Dress, a role in which I was responsible for a large team and for developing key relationships, sourcing funding and the creative direction of the project. I have project-managed events for The Perth Fashion Festival and held the position of Corporate Hospitality Manager for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. I have developed strong industry contacts from creative to corporate sectors both nationally and internationally.
