About me
I am the founder of Janet's List and in my previous career I was a family law barrister for prestigious chambers in London. Janet’s List is a curated platform that helps people discover and buy from independent brands by black women and women of colour from the U.K. We do this through our innovative and unique pop up concept stores, our curated website as well as retail partnerships. In 2020, I curated the first ever virtual marketplace for the 24 hour WOW Global Festival and Janet's List collaborated with Somerset House and Coco de Mer in London. As part of Janet's List, I co-host an award nominated business podcast: 'Making Money Moves'. Connect with me on Instagram and Twitter at @janetslist. As mentioned, I practised as a family law barrister for nearly seven years before moving into a portfolio career and starting a business. My expertise lies at the intersection of business, retail, women and diversity.
Work history
    Barrister
     -
I previously worked as a barrister and trained mediator specialising in family law. I did this for close to 7 years. In October 2013 I took an academic/working sabbatical where I took up a number of opportunities including study, working as a consultant (at the NSPCC) and working in a commercial business. At the start of my sabbatical, I was offered a fantastic opportunity to manage a celebrity's social media (who went on to win an Academy Award). This kickstarted started on my formal path to building expertise in social media.
