Jasmine Ricketts

Movement Director/Choreographer and FacilitatorUnited Kingdom
About me
Jasmine works with actors, singers, dancers, non-dancers, and young people - engaging and enhancing creative bodies. As a Movement Director, Jasmine's role is to work closely with directors to explore the physical nature of the piece in question, using movement in all its variants to capture the essence of the story. Jasmine's work spans punchy choreographed numbers to subtle physical characteristics, and from big ballroom scenes to ensemble choral gestures, and everything in-between. Movement is inherent in everything we do - Jasmine's practice is anchored in this truth and often uses psycho-physical techniques to engage the 'whole body' as a tool for expression. As a Facilitator, Jasmine believes that engagement with the arts and performance is vital for us to learn and grow as people. Dance and drama can empower and educate. Theatre-making helps build confidence, inspires creativity and fosters empathy. Jasmine is empathetic and strives to create encouraging, safe, and exciting spaces wherever she works.
