About me
I'm Jay Harris - Art Director, Filmmaker & Lecturer. Most recently, I was Art Director for the world's largest online supermarket, Ocado. Sitting within the Brand and Visual Identity department, my role at Ocado was nothing short of diverse, challenging but above all, rewarding. Over the last two years, I have played a vital part in the creative implementation of Marks and Spencer merge, concepted, produced and executed various seasonal campaigns for Ocado.com and brought to fruition a flamboyant 'Merry & Bright' Christmas never seen before in the grocery industry. As well as my primary role as an Art Director, I am contracted each year as a visiting lecturer for the Fashion Communication and Promotion course at Nottingham Trent University. Specialising in Art Direction and Filmmaking, my time at Trent is spent supporting the second and third-year students in conceptualising and executing ideas and teaching them the tools they need to think more laterally when approaching a brief. Over the years, I have gained invaluable experience in Creative Direction, Cinematography, Print and Production. It is the combination of both good design sense and imagination, sensitivity and diplomacy that has allowed me to conceptualise ideas and become the Art Director I am today. Creativity is storytelling, and storytelling is what I do.
