About me
Hello, I'm Jay Harris - Art Director, Filmmaker & Lecturer. Currently, I am a Lecturer of Fashion Communication & Promotion at Nottingham Trent University, Practitioner of Design for Art Direction at the University of the Arts London and freelance Art Director specialising in creative and branding projects spanning moving image, photography and social media. Over the years, I have gained invaluable experience in Creative Direction, Cinematography, Print and Production. It is the combination of good design sense and imagination, sensitivity and diplomacy that has allowed me to conceptualise ideas and become the Art Director I am today. Creativity is storytelling, and storytelling is what I do.

Self-Promotion, @caravaggios_cupidOur social platforms are one of the most important aspects of self-promotion. They demonstrate who we are, what we do and what we like and dislike to the world. They are an integral part of our own communications mix and allow us to create a virtual version of ourselves for people to get to know, understand, like and follow. A few months back, I struggled to think of things to post, say, or do. The pandemic had allowed me the time to sit back and think about myself, my goals and my values. What
  • One Year of Cookie Jar
One Year of Cookie JarCookie Jar celebrates its one year anniversary! The infamous masked London queen Stella Marbles started the party in May 2019 in response to the lack of safe-spaces in queer nightlife. She wanted to give Queer artists a platform to showcase their art on their terms. Welcoming and unapologetic, a haven for transgressive, freaky and non-traditional drag and performance art. Cookie Jar is a place where Queer people can experience their fantasy and share it with others without fear of judgement o

Classical music can and is both fashionable and invigorating. Mélodie began studying the piano at the age of three and by the age of thirteen was already working towards her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music at the Geneva University of Music which she obtained at the age of fourteen with the highest hon

  • Trend Report
Trend ReportConducted from my research at Berlin Fashion Week and briefed as a means to gain an understanding of the different trends and the reasoning for their timely emergence, this report identifies and visually communicates nine trends within the Visual merchandising & In-store sector as well as the Print & Graphic and Sportswear for the Autumn/Winter 2016 season. Demonstrating an innovative and forward-thinking approach to both content and design, I took on the multiple roles as a trend forecaster,

Mutt MagazineChampioning an aesthetic inspired by the exuberant energy of dogs, Mutt Magazine was created in response to our compassion for the cause. Embedding my love of editorial design, vibrant colour and photography, Mutt Magazine is a new niche publication, celebrating rescue dogs by peeking through the keyholes of families and their happy hounds, offering an undocumented glimpse into their second chance at a forever home.
