- Stress relief therapy - knittingWith the help of different YouTube channels, I taught myself to knit. I started with scarves and have now moved to hats. I find knitting very relaxing and it really does help relieve stress and anxiety from work and every day life. One of the things I love most in winter is knitting while we have a Hobbit/LOTR or Harry Potter marathon on the TV

My day to day workload consists of working with best luxury hotels in Europe, researching new properties and extending the company's portfolio, meeting with hotels and suppliers in order to maintain a good business relationship and working as a member of the in-house luxury DMC for England and Scotland, Stately Tours booking hotels, experiences, private transport and guides. I often conduct hotel inspections (both in UK and other European countries) to make sure the properties are up to Jacada Travel standards we sell to our clients.
I often go above and beyond my role. In order to reduce the number of missed payments and angry suppliers, I request payment reports and filter the raw data to make sure the finance team make the payments on time. I also optimised many Excel spreadsheets with information used by the team in order to facilitate the quoting process.

I was the destination expert for the hotels in the Benelux area working B2B with contracted and non-contracted hotels. I worked with Far East, Indian and Japanese markets. Working with Japanese groups I gained knowledge of the strict Japanese travel law. I had to make sure groups’ special requests were being communicated to the hotel and honoured.
I quickly became extremely efficient working with Kuoni's specialised booking system, running reports and checking up on the itineraries. This helped me locate bookings that were overbudget, finding the reason and slashing the differences whenever possible saving company money.
I dealt with key client's and VIP groups as well as MICE and leisure travellers. One of the key aspects of my role was negotiation of rates, conditions and especially cancelation and reduction charges in those situations where the deadline was missed by the sales office or the client.
Another important aspect of the role was following strict guidelines for some clients (specifically Japanese and key clients) and some areas, as was keeping an eye on destination's high season, difficult dates and other restrictions hotels might have in place. I communicated any changes or discrepancies directly to Kuoni sales offices around the world so they would get a better idea of the current booking situation and see the best hotels within the clients’ budget.
