Agency is the first and only student-run PR and marketing firm at the University of Leeds. As an Account Executive I work to proactively promote the profile of my client, an independent restaurant in the heart of Leeds. On a weekly basis I manage the information between my team and the client with the aim of influencing public behaviour without the use of paid advertising.
During my time at Brand Union I was given the opportunity to work with their partner agency, Digit. As a digital design agency it was very different from the branding work I was doing for BU but gave me a valuable insight into how digital designers work. I spent the majority of my time generating ideas and sketches for an advertising piece for Kabuto Noodles but also assisted with an innovative digital project for Peclers Paris.
Providing support to the Worldwide team, particularly in the discipline of creative output. Learning how the creative studio interacts with brand consultants and Client service teams when opportunities arise within the London team. Within the role I embraced the chance to improve my writing and editing skills through the completion of case studies for the company's internal records alongside ad hoc creative work. The majority of my experience in the London office was in FMCG packaging design, working with clients such GSK and Reckitt Benckiser. Within these areas I assisted with research, concept ideation and concept development, allowing me to work both alone and within a team to create work presented to clients.
Working as an intern one day a week during term time, and full-time for the months of July and August, I assisted the Clearsilver studio with projects for clients across the UK. This included a brochure for a Prince's Trust fundraising event, an invitation for the FEI and drafting ideas for Clearsilver's own brand identity. Whilst in the studio I worked on creative briefs from start to finish, giving me a thorough understanding of the design process; this included receiving and responding to client feedback before collaborating with the creative director to produce a final design.
