Marketing Events Executive with 3 years’ experience in a marketing field gained in a variety of areas from account management to event management. Whilst working at News UK I have been able to play a pivotal role in assisting the growth of The Times, The Sunday Times & The Sun by supporting key marketing campaigns through innovative event planning. My main roles include: • Working closely with Marketing, Commercial & Business Insight teams to understand our audiences and key marketing objectives, and to devise a suitable event strategies to support objectives within budget and often to tight deadlines. • Independently managing multiple events from start to finish including on-the-day logistics & execution • Acting as point of contact for the team, managing relationships with key internal & external stakeholders • Carrying out research into competitor activities & proactively searching for new partnerships & sponsors • Planning & presenting innovative event ideas and supporting marketing strategies that help to deliver effective commercial results for the brands • Managing event marketing collateral including adverts (online/offline), branding and editorial content • Providing detailed post-event analysis including critical analysis of KPIs, detailed budget breakdowns, recommendations for future growth and ways to improve format & execution • Content-managing & updating various event websites including monitoring analytics & performance • Briefing & managing our agencies & in-house design, digital & social teams to ensure that deadlines are met & the marketing communications plan is delivered on time & on target • Jointly managing the team assistant, monitoring their progression & development Key Achievements • Researched and negotiated an event sponsorship deal with BAFTA LA worth over £500k • Worked alongside an agency to devise and build a centralised voting platform to help support the Sportswomen of the Year Award, which encouraged an increase in nominations by 200% • Supported the digital launch of The Times of London and The Times Irish edition by devising and executing event plans which reached an audience in excess of 1m
My 12 month placement in a fast-paced agency taught me that I am hard-working and can cope under pressure. I was able to work with clients on a local and national scale, developing key marketing skills including, verbal and written communication, presentation, and team work. I also gained experience using key programs including Photoshop, Google Adwords, Google Analytics, Campaign Monitor and CMS. My main responsibilities included: • Managing my own accounts as well as supporting RKH’s major accounts including Taylor Wimpey, Intelligent Energy, IKEA, Everards & NFoPP • Providing the content and design for direct mail and e-marketing campaigns (SEM, PPC, social & email) • Managing several social media accounts, providing updates and responding to any customer queries • Presenting & pitching new campaign ideas to potential and existing clients • Coordinating & managing campaigns and events (online & offline), including managing budgets • Monitoring competitor activity, and providing campaign data analysis and feedback to clients • Maintaining & updating client’s websites using several different content management systems. I also provided training sessions, teaching clients how to manage their own websites Key Achievements • Created & managed a direct marketing campaign for Heathrow UTC which saw applications increase by 50% • Devised a social media campaign for Bucks UTC encouraging in excess of 2000 website visits in 30 days • Took charge of piecing together and submitting a tender for the Loughborough University in London website which RKH won as a result
