I have a passion for all aspects of art, fashion and design. I believe this to be one of my most positive assets, as it enables me to take a broad and open mind across a wide range of creative discussion and thought. I have a deep interest in the nature of constructed materials, how they are worked and shaped – these are all subjects which I like to study closely. I recognise that it’s not always realistic that art projects be produced simply according to the codes or regimen of a studio, but instead they should also reflect the personal beliefs and styles of the client, too. Equally, it is the role of the creative to empathise with the customers needs and yet provide them with fresh perspectives and alternative viewpoints. Before my art education I worked with clothing – both designing and fabricating – an activity which I still continue. And though it may seem a little out of context, my own experience is that art, design and fashion are all closely interlinked. The application of creative thinking – clothing or otherwise – requires both an open mind and at the same time a willingness to understand the needs of those for whom the work is directed. Additionally, the successful execution of a commercial art-project requires the same disciplines as almost any other creative task, namely careful planning and good, meticulous organisation throughout. With my professional experience in constructed projects, pattern cutting and sewing, I am able to view and understand projects from different artistic and constructive perspectives. I also have a good eye for space and style, which has proven to be a great help to me when working on installations, for example. Combining these skills together has made me very resourceful in my approach to work. I am capable of finding cost-effective ways and problem solve material and construction related issues with ease. I am a mature, good-humoured, hard-working, diligent and responsible worker who is always attentive to detail. I like to be tidy and organised and am always happy to co-operate and assist others in their work. I am able to manage and take responsibility - and to work towards deadlines in an organised and professional manner.
