About me
I am currently working in-house at Ohh Deer, a contemporary illustrated greeting cards and stationery company, as a Junior Designer. At Ohh Deer, I work on a range of projects from our own brand ranges, to stationery briefs from Sainsbury's and Urban Outfitters. I graduated Nottingham Trent University with a 1st class honours degree in Fashion Communication and Promotion. My course allowed me to be creative with branding, promote brands, and allowed me to generate ideas that will correspond with emerging trends. From this, I have experience with social media, producing magazines, and identifying key trends and consumer groups. In my spare time I create artwork for my Instagram and Etsy - jessicaforgie_illustration. My 'brand' is focussed on being colorful and not too serious. I enjoy drawing flowers and creating my own stoneware pottery.

At Ohh Deer I work on generating ideas and designs for our own range of greeting cards, that focus on being humour lead, colourful and contemporary. Additionally, I work on briefs from bespoke clients such as Waterstones, Urban Outfitters and Sainsbury's: which usually involve designing stationery, art prints or greeting cards for specific occasions. I also help out with our stationery subscription box 'Papergang', by sourcing artists and artworking the Papergang booklet. As well, I am experienced in artworking cards and other products for production.

At Global Brands Group, I amend garment artworks and tech sheets before they hit production. From this, I have a key eye for detail, as it is important to identify mistakes which may hinder production. I am also fluent with using the Adobe suite. I also get the opportunity to support the design team and work on my own design briefs, some of my recent designs have been selected by Next and TU. I enjoy being creative and reacting to trends. From working here I am used to working in a fast paced environment, supporting others whilst getting through my own 'to do' list. I see myself as organised and reliable, always on hand to help a co-worker.

At Nottingham Trent, I studied Fashion Communication and Promotion. The course allowed me to develop my graphic design skills using them to create content that would promote and communicate a brand message. What I enjoyed most about the course was creating my own magazine and working on live client briefs, like with Boots and Fred Perry.
