My experience relates extensively to supporting young children's development of curiosity, open-ended thinking, creativity, skills and abilities in visual art and storytelling as the basis for developing all other learning and understandings. I have worked with children and alongside young families throughout all of my professional life, and encouraged them to engage with the world and each other through art. I use art and artists as a lens through which children can form new understanding of the world.
Teacher of 3 - 4 year olds and Leader in the Area of Art for children ages 3 - 12 years.
Course Content included, Teaching Pedagogy, Visual Arts and Children, Subject Knowledge for all Primary Subject areas, Working with Families, Additional Agencies and other Professionals, Reggio Emilia and Montessori Art and Pedagogy, the nature of Power and Education (Foucault) and the Rights of the Child (study of United Nations stance on the child's right in society), Creating Visually stimulating Learning Environments that enable children to actively and independently engage in learning.
Elected by the parents as the Teacher of the Year at Ruyton Girls School.
