Centaur Media is a leading UK based business information, events and media group. Its portfolio includes publications such as Design Week, Marketing week, Creative Review. I work across all events, but specialise in the creative design Industry, whereby I liaise with all levels of professionals, from each division. I am the first point of contact for all those who attend, often greeting those who come into the office for meetings. Managing and coordinating all schedules, I am the master of multitasking. I deal with all the administration myself overseeing all RSVPS, putting together all guest lists and seating plans. Paying attention to detail is key when handling all databases with client information. Following up on all calls, managing and amending budgets are areas of my job where I have excelled. I am in charge of all data management, creating the awards structure and sourcing and contacting all potential speakers for our events. This role has allowed me to further enhance my polite professional manner, confidence and significant administration ability.
I have always had a passion for design and the creative side of events and was delighted to work with multi-award winning design studio RM&CO. I was employed as one of their first team to come in and handle the launch of the company. My main role was to manage the day to day running of the design studio including, project management, administration duties and organise the company launch party — working directly under the Creative director across 2 studios in the UK and Switzerland. Putting together all emails, letters and proof reading budgets. My daily duties included being the first point of contact for all clients and external suppliers. Making appointments, organising both Creative Director diary’s and taking on project work writing reports and feeding back my findings.
I have always had an underlying love for luxury items — My main role was to become the master of International mega brands, such as Balmain, Alexander McQueen, Givenchy and Burberry. I also had the pleasure of supporting the personal shopping team, dealing with key budget holding clients and celebrities was the norm. Working for Harrods was an amazing experience which allowed me to showcase my creativity, love and knowledge for fashion. As well as my ability to interact with a variety of people in any given environment. Working long hours in a fast past, for ever changing industry was one of the main things I loved about Harrods.
Whilst working for gift, I had the pleasure of putting my communication skills to good use. By raising money for a number of leading global and UK based organisations including ones dear to my heart such as Amnesty International, NSPCC and Battersea Cats & Dogs Home. On joining Gift I was recruited as a street fundraiser, after just two weeks of hard graft and surpassing my targets I was quickly promoted to Team leader. Managing teams of 5-10 I was able to articulate the argument as to why people should help those in need to complete and utter strangers. Thriving with confidence and belief in the message I was spreading I was able to raise £250,000 with my team in a year.
