S E N S O R Y . S P A C E SSensory Spaces is an exploration of sensory experiences within the urban environment. Intangible senses such as smell, sound, tastes and textures are interpreted through abstract sketches, and combined with photography and videography of cities at Dusk and Dawn. Influenced by the practice of sensory therapy, key themes of protection, play and control are integral to the project. Protection is translated as padding, quilting and reflective tape. Playful samples are achieved through the use of traditional beading techniques and the application of raised silicone motifs. Control is interpreted by creating samples which ‘react’ to the handler, using crinkle paper, heat reactive printing and the incorporation of LEDs. Sensory Spaces has resulted in a collection of subtly tactile samples which incorporate sensory feedback for the wearer whilst still maintaining a sense of sartorial sincerity.

Design for Care was a Design Council project exploring new services, products and processes in relation to health, social care and well-being. Collaborating with four other students from Product Design, Graphic Design and Fine Art, our task was to answer the question "How might we create the conditions to encourage more acts of altruism?". As a group we investigated this brief, focusing on aiming to increase community interaction between the elderly and their neighbours. We presented our findings as a group at the Design Academy Headquarters, and answered questions from the panel of industry professionals.

Working with a team of three other students in conjunction with tutors to organise NTU's Textile Design exhibition at Première Vision. Together we identified four concepts for students to respond to, creating mood boards with accompanying fabric/yarn suggestions. We were also responsible for designing headers, banners and stickers to be used for presenting students' samples. Luckily we were able to attend Première Vision alongside our tutors and speak to industry professionals, other students and tutors as well as visit other stalls and trend presentations.
