About me
http://www.twitter.com/jessicaosmiley http://explainedordinarily.blogspot.co.uk/ After completing Award School in 2011, I accepted an internship offer with Naked Communications for 3 months in Sydney. The 3 months of hard work with Naked saw me accepted into a freelance copywriting position with digital agency, Holler where I worked on a range of long and short copy for eDMs and social media. In March 2012, I landed my first permanent position at Jack Morton Worldwide in Sydney where I worked for 6 months as a Copywriter, both independently and in creative teams. My journey thus far has been extraordinary and I have learnt so much about an industry I love. I am currently living in London and am about to set out on my next phase of learning and work experiences. I've just finished my 3 month internship with Naked Communications and I am now freelance copywriting at Holler. So hola at me if you need me to be your friendly junior copywriter. Have a nice day.
Projects
  • Taronga Zoo Print Ad
Taronga Zoo Print AdI was applying for a job at Ogilvy when I first finished AWARD School. This was one of the briefs the creative director gave me to work on. I didn't get the job but I did get this lovely email from the CD afterwards - Hi Jessica, Just wanted to let you know that I was very impressed with your work, and I will keep you on my list. I have shortlisted to a couple people who are juniors but who have been writing in agencies for a couple of years… it was purely a matter of how much time I have to train someone up. As you know, things change very frequently in the ad business, so an opportunity could come up at any time. I will also be happy to recommend you to any of my colleagues in other agencies who are looking. I'm sure our paths will cross and that we'll have the opportunity to work together, even if not in the immediate future. Keep writing, keep in touch, and I know you'll go far. Cheers, (creative director)

  • The Premise - FLY ON THE WALL
The Premise - FLY ON THE WALLA creative project I worked on lately, is a pop-up bar idea I came up with for The Premise - a competition which ran for a Drambuie campaign via Sapient Nitro. I was a finalist and pitched my idea to the judges, but unfortunately the winning entry was chosen because their concept was closer to the Drambuie brand image. You can check out my video in this project or you can view it online by going to - www.thepremise.com.au > Winning Entry on the left > from there select Top 10 Finalists from the scroll down tab > My idea was "Fly on the Wall."
  • White Glo Night & Day
White Glo Night & DayThis is the result of a brief I worked on for Kastner & Partners with an art director friend from AWARD School. The idea was one of the creative director's favourites but apparently the client wasn't prepared to be very adventurous!
  • iBis hotels
iBis hotels This is my concept and copy for banner ads which have gone to market. My first (hopefully of many) "live" briefs which I worked on.
  • MENTOS - Train ticket
MENTOS - Train ticketMy idea for a Mentos TVC based around the idea that taking a Mentos brightens your senses. It was well received by my creative directors at Naked Communications but the client unfortunately went with another idea.
