Due to two bereavements on my wife’s side of the family in very close proximity, I felt unable to continue in my previous position and we mutually ended my probation period, so I could support my wife, look after our children, save childcare costs and spend quality time with them. A difficult 2020 so far has of course been made far worse by COVID-19 and its effects on the job market.
