About me

 

I have recently left a role as the Business Operations Executive for an entertainment recruitment agency. My interests and daily duties fell largely within all aspects of marketing from social media & internal comms to, campaign management and events. I graduated in 2013 with a Upper Second Class honours from the University of Arts London, with a BA(Hons) degree in Public Relations. Since graduating in 2013 I was able to gain over 2 years’ worth of experience working for a well-known, global insurance/finance company, as well as working for a company who are the leading supplier of colour and associated art products across the globe, consisting of 7 of the most famous brands within the art industry. My duties for both internships ranged from a PR/Marketing perspective and PA/Administrative duties.

  • I secured a 1 year placement as a Marketing Assistant within ColArt’s UK Marketing Team. They are the leading supplier of colour and associated art products across the world, comprising of 7 famous brands including Winsor & Newton, Liquitex and Conte a Paris. I reported the Head of UK Marketing. Duties included; • Working with external agencies to create adverts, e-newsletters and web banners for print/online media • Liaising with Magazine Editors and web designers to ensure our brands where advertised correctly and in the right issue • Writing Press Releases • Writing content for winsornewton.com and Painting Matters (Winsor & Newton’s monthly newsletter) • Creating a communications activity plan for the year – regular upkeep • Co-ordination and total control of The Fine Art Collective – an online collective specifically for Fine Art Students – duties included sending out monthly newsletters, setting up workshops and making sure online social media was updated regularly • Dealing with sponsorship's – liaising with event co-coordinators, curators or artists to secure a sponsorship deal which varied from financial to material products. • I was involved with the coordination, execution, managing content plans and seeing the entire campaign through of events such as Saatchi Showdown, We Create Live, The Big White Wall with UAL and Water Colour Revolution • Working to very tight deadlines

  • I worked with the Marketing Communications team to gain experience and knowledge within the in-house PR industry. I had many responsibilities, and learnt a plethora of valuable and new skills. I reported to the Head of Marking/Communications for the EMEA region for the duration of the internship. Skills learnt and developed included: • Writing Press Releases (for intranet site InsideMarsh) • Using Content Centre daily to upload and change content for UK & Global InsideMarsh • General upkeep of InsideMarsh to make sure it is easily accessible to colleagues • Making sure that the pipeline for news/articles/people stories was up to date • Creating and developing relationships with New York’s content manager to synchronise pipeline of intranet site (supporting them whenever needed) • Editing articles that were submitted by other departments – relaying them to Head of Mar/Comms for the go ahead to upload content • Uploading/Editing/Updating content for Marsh.com (external site) • Frequent use of Oracle E-Business Suit • Frequent use of Listserv Maestro Email Marketing Software • Total organisation of Marsh’s Team Walk Challenge (a 3-day event at Centre Parks with 500 of Marsh’s employees attending) for their charity of the Year Help for Heroes • Distribution of tickets for colleagues and clients to London’s Historical Palaces • PA/General Admin. • Assisting the Head of Marketing
