Lecturer and artist who works at the intersection of sound, visual and Computer Science. Has been awarded a master’s degree in Sound and Music Computing, and also a master’s degree in Computer Sciences. Received the recognition of being the first Ableton Certified Trainer in Latin America. His work is based on an interdisciplinary approach, experimentation, and combination of a variety of techniques and tools to produce sound art, visual music, and sound design. As a performer, he has found a way to explore new possibilities of the man/machine relationship, developing a successful track record in the field of live performance using computers. Creates his own production and sound design techniques merging creative technology and sound to produce glitch sounds, wall of sound textures, dub production techniques, granular synthesis and generative music. Performs internationally in festivals and events like Bauhaus University in Germany, Mutek Festival in Spain, Fusebox Festival in the US, Main Square Plaza in Mexico City, and others. Joaquín lectures in top universities his techniques for sound design, music production and live performance of audiovisual projects, also founded his own school where he provides custom and advanced courses. Founder and organizer of Ableton Mexico Usergroup, a community of music creators who meet regularly to share and learn together. He is currently working on new media art projects involving the use of data and computing technologies to create expressive synaesthetic conversions from the man machine interaction.
