Projects
- Radio Interview On Jazz In the Student PopulationI was invited onto University Radio York to talk about Circulation Magazine's jazz print. During the show, I was asked various questions aimed at introducing the audience to Jazz music, why they should listen to the genre and why it's becoming ever more popular among students in York. I also spoke about Circulation and the part that we play in York's music scene. The show's music was selected by myself, with picks from Thelonious Monk, Joe Armon-Jones, Emma Johnson's Gravy Boat, Emma-Jean Thackr
- Clkwork // York's Underground Music CommunityThis is a feature I wrote about Clkwork, a collective in York started by students who love electronic music. The group have begun to form a scene in the city, attracting all-range of experimental DJ's and producers for their events. York is a city that takes kindly to innovative ideas; Clkwork is just one example.
- Circulation magazine Autumn PrintFor Circulation's winter print, we [the editorial team] decided to explore jazz. This is a very different direction to our usual theme, which tends to be indie/rock focussed. I wrote the magazine's main feature, an interview with the London based jazz artist Joe Armon-Jones.
