About me
I’m a graphic designer committed to clearly communicating brand identities, from idea to development and final execution. The use of a grid system features heavily throughout my work and process. My Values: Take off the mask No bullshit, just be yourself. I try to emulate this attitude within my branding work, expressing a brands core values through great, creative design work. Bring the fire It takes a great deal of passion and hard work to set your creativity alight. I bring all of my passion for the projects I tackle unless I’ve yet to have coffee then, please don’t talk to me. Lend a helping hand Collaboration and co-operation are two skills that I’m proud to have. Helping a friend, colleague or even a client out can a long way, I never underestimate the value of being friendly and helpful. Let the good times roll What’s that saying? “all work and no play makes Joey a dull boy”. I consider myself truly lucky to be able to call what I do, my work, I have so much fun doing it!
Projects
  • All Occasions
All OccasionsWorking as a freelance designer whilst studying my Foundation Degree, I collaborated with a local design agency: harper-creative.co.uk The aim of the project was to completely overhaul the branding for a local marquee company that has worked with clients such as ASDA, BP and Rix. My input was creating the new logo, identity as well as the layout and design for the new website in Photoshop. The final website can be seen at: marquees4alloccasions.co.uk
  • Grand Cafe
Grand CafeThis project was completed as part of a YCN brief for UCC Coffee in my final year of UNI. The task was to take an existing sub-brand of UCC called GrandCafe and completely re-imagine the brand to have a more independent and unique feel to it. I created a brand centred around the origin of its coffee beans, with each package having a different colour for the type of coffee it is and the country it's produced in. The logo symbolises a coffee cup and when rotated reveals the letter 'g' for GrandCafe.
  • Vulcan Fitness
Vulcan FitnessDuring my time as a in-house designer at exercise.co.uk & purefitnessandsports.co.uk I was challenged with launching a new strength brand under the new name of Vulcan. Initially it was intended to appeal to only males but during the development of the project, the brand became more open and diverse to avoid restricting its appeal. The logo is simply a fist that has been angled intentionally to represent movement and give the effect its coming straight towards you. The colours have been adapted for a female audience as well as male
