Having opened the space to artists in late 2012 after graduating that year, maintaining and sustaining a level of enthusiastic practitioners was key to the existence of the studio. The objective was to create affordable studio spaces in Manchester City Centre, which adopted the open-plan/shared workspace nature of the Manchester School of Art, Sculpture studios. I arranged group meetings and critical sessions that gave opportunities for the artists to discuss works and ideas. It was important to have regular public exposure in terms of open studios and exhibitions. Fundraising through events set up internally and externally were essential, as too were private events for fundraising purposes.
