A native New Yorker and the quintessential entertainment industry professional, John possesses outstanding achievements as a producer, director, world-renowned A-list cinematographer, writer and chief executive. He has worked with Hollywood’s most revered talent and for every major studio and network on acclaimed feature films, TV series and independent projects. John is actively creating an impressive roster of high-profile film and TV projects including Winged Victory, a World War II era dramatic TV series about the legendary Tuskegee Airmen told in the tradition of HBO’s highly successful Band of Brothers; Eleanor, a revealing dramatic TV series portraying the personal and family life of Eleanor Roosevelt in the tradition of Downton Abbey; and Longshot, an original, true-crime feature film drama evocative of the classics The Wolf Of Wall Street and Catch Me If You Can telling the inside story of the Breeders' Cup Classic scandal. As director and producer, John is currently in pre-production on Baikal: The Blue Pearl Of Siberia, an IMAX 3D science-nature feature film to be narrated and co-produced by Oscar-winner Robert Redford. As executive producer of the nationally syndicated TV series Jury Duty, John delivered 130 episodes over two broadcast seasons. The show “Where Hollywood Holds Court!” starred famed criminal attorney Bruce Cutler as host and “judge” featuring one hundred “celebrity” jurors in an original and innovative Hollywood Squares meets Judge Judy comedy format. John was a high-level consultant to a New York-based entertainment fund. He helped to finance many film, TV, media, technology and real estate ventures. He is developing his own fund in alliance with major finance, talent and distribution entities to produce original, high-quality film and TV content. Notably, he filmed the Oscar-nominated documentary Spaces: The Architecture of Paul Rudolph. Personally chosen by “shock-jock” Howard Stern, John produced and directed an extremely successful and highly irreverent TV spot campaign promoting Stern’s highly controversial first pay-per-view special achieving major notoriety, ratings and revenues. For Suchard Chocolate, he directed a long-running TV spot campaign on location in Vienna launching the company’s flagship Finessa line. John was also co-founder of East Hampton Studios, one of the largest motion picture studio facilities in North America. Perhaps the youngest director of photography ever to be accepted into the cinematographer's guild, John achieved significant credentials as an A-list cinematographer with a global reputation for excellence early in his career. His abilities quickly led him to undertake high-profile directing assignments. Under the tutelage of its Oscar-winning inventor, he was also a pioneer in the art and science of Steadicam cinematography receiving international acclaim. An award-winning graduate of the prestigious New York University's Tisch School of the Arts Film School, John earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Producing and Directing. While studying at NYU and still in his teens, he filmed the historic debut of The Ramones and Talking Heads on location at the legendary New York City music venue Max's Kansas City. John is a flying enthusiast and is developing an innovative commercial aviation venture.
