An Account Director for ten years with international digital marketing agencies, I launched my own business in March 2018 looking to provide support to creatives in Brighton, whether they be musicians, artists, start up businesses or authors. I wanted to take the expertise and knowledge learnt through numerous successful cross channel multimedia campaigns and transfer that to key areas of passion. As for me, having spent my teenage years in Spain, I have a keen love for travel and I am always interested in visiting new places around the world. My primary passion is football, and I have had a season ticket at my team since I was 2 years old, although I enjoy most other sports- especially boxing, athletics, cricket, rugby and basketball. Music is my other main interest- I average at least one gig per week and have a burgeoning vinyl collection! The owner, John Foster, had spent years going to gigs, shows, film festivals and exhibitions and became disheartened at seeing truly incredible artists not realise their potential. Even many of the most popular musicians and creators locally were struggling to get recognition outside of the town. There are incredible musicians, film makers, independent businesses, illustrators and actors struggling to get heard. After over a decade of working for marketing agencies, John decided to create something that would carry the same qualities and practices of advertising campaigns for commercial businesses and apply them to creatives who needed them. Passion How did we get to know those people? By being passionate about music, film, theatre and art and wanting to see talent succeed. In our personal lives we attend around 6 festivals each year, and go to numerous gigs every week. We go to the cinema weekly, attend short film festivals and visit galleries around the world. We read blogs, still buy Kerrang! and Metal Hammer and listen to hours of podcasts whenever we are not listening to Spotify or another record. We are OBSESSED with this and will never stop being excited by new sounds, new shows and new exhibitions. We just want as many people as possible to experience them.
·Reporting directly to the MD, I was responsible for nurturing and growing relationships with clients, developing and implementing strategy, identifying opportunities for growth and ensuring that client expectations are being met by achieving their objectives and delivering work of a consistently high standard on time and within budget. Activity ranged from SEO, PPC, social media and display advertising to video, UX, web builds and CRO. ·Lending Stream is a US based client with an annual spend of £5million. I grew their PPC channel by 127% and display by 222% thanks to strong cross channel strategy. CTR improved from 5.46% to 13.87%, with monthly clicks increasing from 61,267 to 178,112. ·Following the delivery of technical and content audits, keyword research, environmental analysis, persona development and competitor reviews, I secured an additional £80,000 worth of income with Energy Saving Trust and added web development and SEO retainers. ·I spearheaded the launch of City Sprints “On the dot” service, where we were targeted with 10,000 clicks per month for the first three months. Across PPC, display and social media we achieved an average of 31,711 clicks per month. · I regularly presented new business opportunities to Directors and boards, as well as monthly reports on campaign activity, discussing what was working well with clients and their teams, what could be improved and liasing with project management and internal teams to maintain and improve performance. ·Understanding challenges, reviewing the sector and environment and improving client performance has been essential. ·Other clients included Fidelity, G4S, Cox & Kings, Equinity, Home Protect, Novartis, Euromoney and Helping Hands.
·Oban Multilingual specialises in international online marketing, primarily around search behaviour. I was responsible for sourcing new client opportunities, and leading the whole client acquisition process. This involved contacting relevant businesses, arranging meetings, giving presentations, formulating appropriate and relevant strategies and creating proposals to pitch for business. ·I worked closely with our production team and digital specialists to craft effective and consultative proposals and projections ·I played an integral part of managing campaigns to ensure the ultimate return in investment for clients, adopting a consultancy approach to ensure that projects were successful and thus renewed for longer contracts. This had involved website management (both review and strategy) as well as reporting on SEO and PPC on a weekly basis and conducting face to face meetings every month with clients to determine future strategy evolution. I have also been responsible for creating efficient online PR and advertising campaigns, as well as advising clients on international social media strategies. ·I grew new business revenue by 65% through generating opportunities from scratch ·Clients I secured business with included Aberdeen Asset Management, Rapha Racing, P&O Ferries, Betfair, Four Seasons, Honda, The Stag Company and the Watch Gallery.
