About me

An Account Director for ten years with international digital marketing agencies, I launched my own business in March 2018 looking to provide support to creatives in Brighton, whether they be musicians, artists, start up businesses or authors. I wanted to take the expertise and knowledge learnt through numerous successful cross channel multimedia campaigns and transfer that to key areas of passion. As for me, having spent my teenage years in Spain, I have a keen love for travel and I am always interested in visiting new places around the world. My primary passion is football, and I have had a season ticket at my team since I was 2 years old, although I enjoy most other sports- especially boxing, athletics, cricket, rugby and basketball. Music is my other main interest- I average at least one gig per week and have a burgeoning vinyl collection! I am a member at my local cinema and also enjoy the theatre, something that stemmed from the time I played Danny Zuko in a production of Grease.

    • Brighton is a haven for artists across all disciplines- innovators in the arts scenes tower over the city whilst in the underground music throbs and pounds the streets above. Yet it is incredibly competitive and difficult to get truly noticed alongside so many artists. Untitled offers a fresh, modern approach to promoting your music and art. We will sit down with you to discuss your ambitions, goals, what you want from a campaign and be accountable for its success. We are not an agency that will just fire off press releases to all and sundry hoping that someone, somewhere will provide a snippet in a listings mag. Untitled works with you to creative smart, innovative, modern and subversive campaigns that are going to get you noticed. Untitled began in 2018 with a powerful desire to see talented artists get their due. The owner, John Foster, had spent years going to gigs, shows, film festivals and exhibitions and became disheartened at seeing truly incredible artists not realise their potential. Even many of the most popular musicians and creators locally were struggling to get recognition outside of the town. There are incredible musicians, film makers, independent businesses, illustrators and actors struggling to get heard. After over a decade of working for marketing agencies, John decided to create something that would carry the same qualities and practices of advertising campaigns for commercial businesses and apply them to creatives who needed them. Untitled will provide real platform for artists to get noticed, through the website itself, PR and Promotion, sustained management or one-off consultancy that develops strategy for creatives who are serious about making it. Untitled is bringing modern, forward thinking, tech focused marketing ideals and experience to clients who need the support and expertise to become what they dream of becoming, providing fully functioning strategies and marketing plans, reaching the right audience via the right channels, the right labels, the right promoters, the right events and the right people. There is complete honesty, transparency and passion to help artists take the step up to the next level. It is incredibly hard to get noticed. We will change that. We will make you get noticed by offering full marketing and business solutions to creatives within Brighton. Let us do the boring business stuff and getting your name out there whilst you focus on the art. Collaborative working We pride ourselves on our relationships with artists, promoters, media outlets and venues, and work with our clients to make sure we understand their desires and goals. From the outset we will meet to discuss who you are, what you represent and what you want to achieve, and from there formulate a strategy that both parties agree on. We will then action the activity whilst you focus on your creative pursuit, and we will provide regular updates and reporting on your activity to highlight its success. We are fully accountable, and will set out targets for us to achieve from the beginning so that you can feel confident in your investment. We also want to be working with you for a long time, so will always put your interests first. Experience and expertise The team at Untitled has spent over a decade each working in digital and marketing agencies, managing a range of clients from travel, video games and retail to international banks, education, fashion designers and luxury goods. We know how to get a product or service in front of the right people, and as people we have a phenominal track record in delivering successful marketing, promotional and new launch campaigns to a broad range of markets. We have collaborated with PR and international agencies the world over, and have utilised skills in social media, e-mail, SEO/PPC, app building and content creation (including video and radio) to exceed client expectations. We know the right people It is hard to get noticed, but it helps if you have someone who knows the right people. Our network of contacts that has built up in the arts scene includes local and national radio stations, television and film producers, promoters, studios, venues, artist managers and marketing agencies. We know labels and producers, and people who have started some of the most well known brands in music and events managers at festivals. Widely followed websites, national newspapers and magazines are getting to know us and collaborate to help your success. If you have the talent, we will work hard for you to be known to the right people within the industry, and will develop your career for you whilst you focus on your art. Passion How did we get to know those people? By being passionate about music, film, theatre and art and wanting to see talent succeed. In our personal lives we attend around 6 festivals each year, and go to numerous gigs every week. We go to the cinema weekly, attend short film festivals and visit galleries around the world. We read blogs, still buy Kerrang! and Metal Hammer and listen to hours of podcasts whenever we are not listening to Spotify or another record. We are OBSESSED with this and will never stop being excited by new sounds, new shows and new exhibitions. We just want as many people as possible to experience them.
