About me

I am a pro-active, enthusiastic and ambitious web and email designer with experience in content-heavy, profile driven websites that have international reaches and millions of visitors each month. I currently work in a multi-national environment as part of a small design team that works alongside developers as well as website managers, marketers and brand executives. I both design and implement websites, mobile sites and web apps with a good knowledge of front-end languages as well as design software. In 2016 human interaction with technology is constant, always evolving, and more global than ever. Like anything that we depend on, it must be efficient, sustainable and effortless. Despite all of the pioneering new interactive experiences we often take for granted, human interaction through this medium is in its infancy - after all, the digital revolution belongs to our generation. It is this combination, of global dependence and relative infancy, that drives me to better my own understanding and contribute alongside like-minded people to the development of new digital media. My BA Hons in English may be a less conventional gateway to digital design. Yet, it has given me a strong grounding in relevant skills which are essential to both: the art of storytelling, intuitive structure and detailed human cognitive analysis. I built on this foundation through extra-curricular activities, having learnt design software at my university newspaper, and teaching myself to code in order to contribute to a variety of web projects as a young adult. This has given me practical experience of how interactive projects can function in the real world on a day-to-day basis Working on projects that are used by wide ranging audiences with varying resources has created two related challenges that most motivate me. Firstly, designing interactive experiences that are fully accessible to physically and mentally disabled users. Secondly, recognising the full breadth of a global audience who demand succinct, coherent and sustained usability of the same products, regardless of the differing resources users might have. Please take time to look through my portfolio, and I look forward to hearing from you.
