About me
Jonny is a freelance visual communicator based in Norwich/London, where he has gained experience working alongside companies such as HOK, MINI, Savills, Red Bull, AON, Chubb and Schindler. He studied at Queen's University Belfast (QUB) with an initial vision of becoming an architect, completing a bachelors degree in Architecture. He then attended University of the Arts London (UAL) at London College of Communication (LCC), studying a Post Graduate Diploma in Visual Communication and Design. Jonny is particularly passionate for, branding, identity, digital and typography. He enjoys working collaboratively to deliver clear and clever design solutions. The invitation had to be in-keeping with HOK brand guidelines, with a playful and tempting feel.

    Mary Jane's TearoomIdentity for Mary Jane's Tearoom at Barrontop Farm: Barrontop, as the name suggests, is situated on top of Barron Hill in Donemana, in Northern Ireland. With green fields rolling down away from the farmyard – this was the visual starting point when designing the identity for the tearoom. The client wanted something traditional that would appeal to the local farming community.     King's Cross BrunchFlyer design for KXC (King’s Cross Church): KX Brunch is an event KXC host every Sunday, where they offer a cooked breakfast in a comfortable space for homeless and marginalised members of the community. The brief was that the overall aesthetic was to be simple and the type was to be clear enough to read when under the influence of alcohol or drugs. A map also needed to be included to ensure that location was clearly communicated for the guests.

    Jonny worked for Interactive Workshops as Head of Design on a broad range of projects, in a variety of different sectors such as: financial, professional services, communications and media, consumer brands, retail and engineering. Clients included Savills, Red Bull, BBC, BMW and Schindler, to name a few. Here he earned the experience of working to tight deadlines, producing proposals for new projects, creating and designing to corporate brand guidelines, client management, print production, digital design and event coordination. He also planned design schedules and managed the studio graphics team, as well as leasing with freelance designers.
