I’m an experienced marketer, advertiser, communicator, collaborator, leader and positive thinker. I've spent over 15 years working on businesses big and small, domestic and global. I’m as comfortable creating a brand from the germs of an idea as I am deep diving on Facebook ad campaigns. I’ve cultivated the capability to switch from mapping out 1-3 year strategic plans, then focusing on the minutiae of post campaign analytics. I can go broad, narrow, sideways, backwards, up and down and around again, all to figure out how to understand businesses and people, and optimise the interaction between them. What excites me is learning and growing - and helping the people and businesses I work with learn and grow. I’m driven by the process of bringing ideas to life, especially with regards to technological possibilities, and I’m interested in how the digital landscape is changing the way we behave and the implications this has on how businesses operate. In an online media landscape where data privacy is crucial, the value of content is decreasing and viewers want more relevant information at their fingertips, I helped this privately owned tech syndicate launch two different products aimed at levelling the playing field between publisher and consumer. I led market research, brand development, product road-mapping, UX and stakeholder relations. • Oriel - SaaS for publishers wishing to re-engage with their adblocking audience. • Proxmate - Privacy and Security for online surfers.
Skype are an online calling and IM dinosaur. Data heavy, confusing UX and tons of competition. We had to drive relevance in a changing world, reminding old customers why they need us and convincing new countries with an emerging online presence Skype was the best choice. I drove consumer initiatives within the Audience and Entertainment division - brand campaigns, broadcast partnerships, entertainment property integrations, influencer marketing and partnerships. I also worked alongside other apps and services within Microsoft (Bing, Xbox, OneDrive, MSN etc.) to deliver integrated business campaigns. I also saw oversaw Skype’s country launch in India.
In a climate where mid-tier supermarkets were getting squeezed between high end and low end competitors, I was brought in to help shape and articulate Sainsbury’s key strategic themes and to craft communication platforms around these, all underpinned by commercial objectives. • Rolled out a national ‘Thrift’ campaign, aimed at helping families struggling in a flat economy with stagnant wage growth. • Helped set up the Activation department – a team to manage how Sainsbury’s defined work streams and interdepartmental processes. • Brand-manager for all Health ranges within Sainsbury’s Own Label.
Digit London Business Director 2011 - 2012 A small design and technology company with heavy R&D, I ran the both Glenmorangie and TNS accounts globally, and worked across a plethora of smaller projects and R&D thinking. We built installations, websites, apps, created data visualisations, content and online games. Indigo Mile Consultant 2010 - 2011 This marketing and media headhunting startup was a great place to explore something small and entrepreneurial whilst leveraging my experience in the ad industry. Highlights included: • Hitting 50% revenue growth in the first & second year • Growing the business from 4 to 11 people • Shaping not only divisional units but business culture RKCR/Y&R Account Director 2008 - 2010 At RKCR/Y&R I worked across 3 flagship clients: BGB (Bacardi Global Brands). Responsible for creative origination running in over 45 markets. Highlights included bringing an ailing brand back to its roots and re-launching B-Live (global experiential platform) culminating in a year-long collaboration with Groove Armada. Virgin Atlantic Airways. We consolidated VAA’s communications worldwide. Highlights included running the award winning ‘Still Red Hot’ 25th year anniversary campaign and building VAA’s first ever creatively led global website. Visit London.
