For the last 6 months I have been working as a VFX production assistant on Ready Player One at Industrial Light and Magic, learning about the vfx pipeline, and the role of production staff in post prodcution of a film. Alongside my fulltime work I have been ivolved in a number of freelance projects, editing music videos, fashion shorts and corperate promotional material. Doing this alongside my job as a VFX PA has helped me to continue to develop my editing skills and knowledge and build my contact. In the 3 years prior, I was studying BA(Hons) Film Production at the Arts University Bournemouth Film School, during that time I developed an in-depth knowledge of many roles within the industry. Working on short and long for films, commercials, music videos, and promotional and corporate videos, seeing the project through from pre production to post. I also largely took on the role of script supervisor when on set, helping to develop my organisation skills and attention to detail, as well as my ability to create efficient, detailed notes whilst multi tasking within departments. This also gave me a chance to observe the workings or set life and the roles of individuals. My previous work history and education has meant I have acquired a set of skills and personal attributes that have led me to persue a career in the film and media business. I also have passion for writing. I am currently working on a short animation series with an AUB collegue and persuing my own literary ideas. Having a background in retail, I also have an interest in fashion and enjoy working on fashion films as an editor.
Being a production assistant at industrial light and Magic means I am responsible for managing the calendar of a production, organising meetings and setting up dailies sessions as well as director reviews. I'm responsible for logging and filing client packages, creating shot boards for production rooms and being a point of contact between the vfx artists and production staff.
As a runner at Industrial Light and Magic, I was responsible for the maintenance and care of the building and it's artists, helping with the day to day running of a vfx house, providing hospitality, and technical assistance as well as covering reception duties.
Motion Graphics designer and editor of a corporate company video for Quintiles, to celebrate the life and work of their CEO.
I was the co-writer and script supervisor of the musical, screwball comedy, Listen Up Emilly, directed by Milo Cremer-Eindhoven. Attending script meetings and developing the story alongside the director, and attending rehearsals with actors. Whilst on set as a script supervisor I was responsible for maintaining continuity throughout the film, including during choreographed dance sequences.
