Originally from Northern Michigan, I was exposed to a life outdoors from Day One. From exploring the woods and learning the trees, to commuting to my first job by waterway aboard my aluminum fishing boat, I'm big into fresh air. That's why I live in Brooklyn!
Though it's a far cry from the northern wilds, Brooklyn's a great home these days, or at least a swell semi-permanent residence. The city’s an organism of infinite complexity, abstracted into a single name. Kurtis Blow said we’ve got Eight Million Stories, but I think that’s a conservative estimate.
I think and I ponder, I'm a writer and director, a conceptualizer and an occasional reverend when duty calls. I think that a lot of questions about existence on Earth can be answered by looking to space. I feel like Antarctica is about as close as one can get to being on the moon, and I could probably live below the -60th Parallel for a while so long as I could get WBGO on the transistor radio.

- Blood & BanjosBlood & Banjos is at once a concept album, a rock opera, and an experiment. Through a bold mix of bluegrass and metal is told the tale of Abram Stone, a man maddened by Satan to embark on a violent and bloody rampage. Created by collaborator, fellow space enthusiast (and professional aerospace engineer) Michael Lindsay, the project was over two years in the making and involved contributions from over 25 artists and musicians across the United States and Europe. As Media & Marketing Director, Joe helped devise and promote a successful Kickstarter campaign to secure funding for the final product, produced promotional videos, and has acted as outreach coordinator and promoter for the project. The album was recorded across the country over multiple recording sessions in New York, Michigan and California. As a public service to its listeners, Blood & Banjos is available free to stream and download on Spotify and via the bandcamp page.
