Jowybean [Joshua Whitehouse] is a 28 year old freelance illustrator, character designer, storyboard and comic artist living in Birmingham, UK.
Joshua first exhibited when he was nine for Disability Art in London. He has also sold work through Number Nine the Gallery in Birmingham. He raised almost £2000 for the New York Firefighters after 9/11 and was the official artist at the opening of Millennium Point. There he was asked to produce an original piece of art for The Queen. A sketch book of his drawings was forwarded by Julie Walters; and he has raised money for the Autistic Society by designing a series of Christmas cards in the past.
He attended Matthew Boulton College and the City of Birmingham University where he studied Illustration and has worked freelance since leaving; some of his most notable work examples are his animatic / story boarding for the Disney and Lego Frozen short Northern Lights , artwork featured in IDW Comics My little Pony Friendship Is Magic series , re-branded ‘Monsters Mayhem’, a kids play centre at Star City, work shown at York’s Café, Birmingham and the RBSA (Royal Birmingham Society of Artists.
Recently he relaunched his business with the Princes Trust as JW Sketches where he has created bespoke fun illustrations selling them at Digbeth Arts Market and even getting endorsed personally by the Prince of Wales himself.

Josh likes creating art for his favourite cartoons/ anime , talking about his diverse taste in music, and working with clients/friends on new ideas for animated show pitches and web comics ,one he is creating himself called Scales and Jenny.

- welcome to the OddmindusverseThese are fantasy/gritty illustrations created from my imagination and inspiration in music, cartoons,anime and video games. each image expresses a different tone and atmosphere that is based on the songs style but this is also reflected by the central figures in the middle of the image. the point of this new body of work is to visualise the organised chaotic world inside my head using my vast taste in music as a starting point. Each illustration took about 30 hours to paint.

- ST-FOUR banner artworksThis recent job was to create some new banner art for the IT company ST-FOUR. the director wanted something that was simple to understand in context to the pages and had a personality that would be appealing to visitors on the site . I went with the idea of making all the characters have a monitor shaped head and using a similar green to their logo make the banners relate more closely to the businesses original branding.
